Jujutsu Kaisen is a shounen anime that started airing in the fall season of 2020. The anime is still airing in the winter season of 2021, and it is loved by millions of fans across the globe. Jujutsu Kaisen gives us a unique and exciting story with an amazing cast of characters and gets us hooked from the very first episode.
Today, I am going to talk about all the amazing aspects of Jujutsu Kaisen that make it one of the best shounen anime of all time. My review of Jujutsu Kaisen is not going to contain any kind of spoilers!
Plot:
First, let’s take a look at the plot of Jujutsu Kaisen. Our protagonist in this anime is a boy named Yuuji Itadori. As a member of the Occult Club, Yuuji used to spend most of his time with his two friends, trying to find out the truth regarding different paranormal activities. One day, Yuuji accidentally finds a mysterious cursed object and takes it back to the clubroom. Once the seal on this cursed object gets removed, evil curses start to attack Yuuji’s friends at school. In order to save their lives, Yuuji eats the cursed object.
After this strange event, Yuuji becomes a part of the world of jujutsu sorcerers and curses. Yuuji enrolls in Metropolitan Jujutsu Technical High School in hopes of exorcising as many curses as possible and saving innocent people.
The Animation Quality is LITERALLY Out of this World!
Jujutsu Kaisen has been brilliantly animated by studio MAPPA, and its animation is on par with some of the most brilliantly animated shows in history, like Demon Slayer and Attack on Titan. The animators have paid actual attention to detail in this anime as every scene has been handled just perfectly. Your eyes will get glued to the screen because of all the well-choreographed and intense fights.
Brilliant Cast of Characters!
This is my favorite aspect of this anime. All the characters in Jujutsu Kaisen have incredibly realistic and relatable personalities. These characters get a lot of development as the show progresses, and you can’t help but get emotionally attached. I really love the fact that the characters in Jujutsu Kaisen don’t have straight-forward personalities like most other characters from different shounen series. These characters are dynamic and unique!
Also, the designs of all the characters are iconic and memorable. My favorite character in the entire story would be the main character – Yuuji Itadori. While Yuuji does look like your average shounen protagonist at first, as the story progresses, you slowly start to find out more about his personality.
Beautiful Story Progression!
From the plot alone, Jujutsu Kaisen does not really seem like anything interesting. However, as you keep on watching, the plot starts to thicken thanks to the inclusion of many interesting characters. The story of this show is filled with masterfully-written twists and turns that keep you at the edge of your seat.
Conclusion
I believe that Jujutsu Kaisen is a must-watch anime for all kinds of anime fans. This anime gives us a good dose of wholesome moments while also maintaining its intense theme. Personally, I’d give this anime a rating of 9 out of 10!
